One of San Francisco’s largest hotels, the San Francisco Marriott opened its doors on October 17th, 1989. Perhaps not the best day to debut a new hotel, as the big earthquake of 1989 would hit later that evening!. Despite poor timing, this hotel has made its mark by providing consistently great Marriott service, and rooms that have been recently renovated as of 2007. This hotel is an excellent choice for those attending conferences and conventions, as it’s just across the street from the Moscone Convention Center. Leisure travelers will benefit too from a central location, as this hotel is just steps from the Sony Metreon Center and Union Square.
